Does it live in water or on land?
Adults are mostly aquatic and spend their time in the water, but they need an easy way to climb out, such as a floating platform.
Is it hard to keep in this climate?
The tricky part is that they want cool water. In Thailand you generally need a chiller or a fan, so factor that into your budget.
Is it safe to touch?
Their skin produces a toxin that is harmful if it gets in your mouth or eyes. Do not handle unnecessarily and wash your hands every time.
Can I put them with fish?
No. Fish nip at their gills and limbs, and the newts may eat small fish. Keep them in their own tank.
