How big does it get?
The biggest mainland African chameleon, up to about 60 cm with the tail and heavy with it. It needs a very large cage, not a tank.
Is it hard to keep?
Yes. It is big and sensitive, and most imports are wild caught and arrive in poor shape, so buy captive bred if you can find it.
Does it bite?
It gapes and hisses first, and a big one can give a real pinch, but it is not dangerous. Give it space rather than handling it.
What does it eat?
Large insects in quantity. A big one eats a lot, so factor the feeder bill into your budget.
