Is this the feisty one of the short-tails?

It has that reputation, yes. Many captive-bred ones are fine, but we would not recommend it as a first python.

How big does it get?

Around one and a half to two metres, slightly slimmer than a blood python but still a thick, powerful snake.

Does it bite?

It can, and a bite from a snake this size needs cleaning and care. Use a hook, move slowly, and it will usually stay calm.

What kind of enclosure?

Wide and low with deep substrate, two hides, a large water bowl and a humid environment. It does not climb, so height is wasted.
