Will I see it?
Mostly no. It swims under the sand and surfaces to feed, so buy it for the behaviour, not for a display.
What do I need for it?
A deep bed of fine dry sand, a dry basking end and very little else. Simple but the sand depth is not optional.
Can I handle it?
Brief handling only. They panic and dive, and repeated handling stresses them badly.
What does it eat?
Small insects, usually taken with a fast strike from just under the sand.
